We had a fantastic time staying at Sycamore Cottage. The cottage was perfect for our stay. It’s compact and cosy and everything was spotless. It’s situated very close to the picturesque village of Boat Of Garten with the Strathspey Railway running close by (but not so close as to be too noisy). It’s a great base to explore the Cairngorms National Park.Briony is a very friendly, helpful host. We definitely plan to return and would recommend Sycamore Cottage to anyone visiting the area. - 18 Oct 2026

Drie nachten was te kort... 😀 - Wat een parel deze locatie. Wij hebben tijdens onze roadtrip door Schotland 7 accommodaties aangedaan, maar dit was onze favoriete plek. De ligging, de privacy, de ruimte, de inrichting van het huisje... heerlijk. We hebben genoten. De volgende keer blijven we langer op deze plek! De omgeving is ook geweldig. 😞 - Wat kon beter? Moet ik echt over nadenken. Het tweezitsbankje zakt wat door, maar hebben we opgelost door kussens en een kleed erover heen te leggen. Dat lag dan weer heerlijk... :-) - 16 Oct 2026

First proper birdwatch of the year along our stret First proper birdwatch of the year along our stretch of the Spey. A respectable 33 species, including many of our summer visitors, like sandpipers, sand martins and willow warblers, which are everywhere now. No ospreys today but I’m sure they are about. A beautiful evening now.
